“Ambulance drivers” are vital to the work of the Northern Ireland Bat Group. Part of the Northern Ireland Bat Group’s remit, in addition to education, training and advancement of knowledge, is caring for bats. It is therefore, with great pleasure that we can announce that the Northern Ireland Bat Group in the North West now has four new ambulance drivers to help collect grounded and / or injured bats.
Our new volunteers took part in a special workshop last night (19 August 2014) looking at bat identification, dealing with public enquiries, recording information from house visits and correct handling. Their welcome pack included a bat id chart, Northern Ireland Bat Group leaflets, stickers, record cards and a handmade, bat transport box.
The workshop was funded as part of our Heritage Lottery Fund project.
Thank You Ambulance Drivers
Welcome aboard and a big thank you to Simon, Madonna, Andrew and Dellwyn. The bat Group couldn’t do the the important work of looking after bats without people like you. If you would like to volunteer with the Northern Ireland Bat Group, keep an eye on the Events page of our website, or contact someone in your area to find out how you can help.
