Hi everyone,

If you are interested in volunteering with NIBG this year please join us for this heterodyne detector workshop and survey training.

Why this training?

If you have a Magenta bat detector or a Batbox 3, this course is the one for you, so you can get the most out of the device and open up the world of ultrasonic bat detection.
Heterodyne bat detectors are tuneable, so you can identify which frequency sounds are being made at and this is part of the puzzle which is used to identify bats while they are flying and hunting.  They allow the user to identify bats as they are flying and identify their behaviour as well as their species.
Knowing how to use a heterodyne bat detector is the gateway to being able to partake in the national bat survey programmes which are ran through both the Bat Conservation Trust and Bat Conservation Ireland.
