The Northern Ireland Bat Group AGM will take place on Saturday 6pm April 2019 @1pm-4pm at Crawfordsburn Visitor Centre (32 Bridge Rd S, Helen’s Bay, Bangor BT19 1JT)

We are delighted to announce the speakers at our AGM

John Haddow

John has over 30 years experience in the monitoring and study of bats including the provision of training for the Bat Conservation Trust (BCT) since 2000. He is a tutor on terrestrial mammal identification and mammal ecology for The Mammal Society and Kindrogan Field Centre.

John is a member of the Central Scotland Bat Group has kindly agreed to come and tell us about The Scottish Leisler’s Bat Project. It is an informal volunteer project which has been looking at Leisler’s bat in Scotland since 2010, and for most of these years a week or two in the summer has been devoted to investigations including radio-tracking in order to find out more about roosts and foraging, in the range of the species in the west and south of Scotland. During this time John Haddow and team have tracked bats in Dumfries and Galloway, Ayrshire and the Isle of Arran.
